Washington Inn

Washington Inn

Harleysville, Pennsylvania

circa 1750

In October of 2018 a small group of folks close with Kevin Durkin flew from Waco, Texas to Harleysville, Pennsylvania on a mission to clear out and document a historic inn, with hopes to move it to Texas!

Kathryn’s Involvement:

  • Began with emptying the building, shoveling waste and driving the skid steer to and from the dumpster.

  • Overseeing work on site, ensuring the historic millwork would not be damaged.

  • Timber frame documentation; measuring & sketching the floor plans and elevations, tagging each timber with labeling system, creating an accurate 3D model of existing structure.

  • Collaborate with Founder, Kevin Durkin on design direction; barn frame alterations, spatial planning, cabinet details, & color considerations.

  • Create construction documents; floor plans, elevations, sections, RCPs, electrical plans, & construction details.
